About 

     My name is Travis Bolt and welcome to my ePortfolio. I am a Newfoundlander true and true, born and raised in a small town of approximately 500 people. Upon graduating high school I found my way to Memorial University to start my undergraduate degree. It is here my story really starts and it is where I met my loving wife. First off, I am a husband to my wonderful wife, Melissa, as well as a father to my beautiful daughters, Ansley (6) and Bridget (4). As you explore this site you will see many photos of my family.

     In my professional life, I am a registered nurse working out of the Health Science Center in St. John's, Newfoundland. This is the largest health care facility and only Trauma, Cardiac and Oncology centre for the entire Island of Newfoundland and mainland of Labrador. I started my career on the Neurosurgical unit where i spent 3 years as a front line nurse. From there, I moved to the Emergency room, which is an area that I am extremely passionate about. I spent 6 years working in the ER before accepting my current role as Site Clinical Manager (SCM) of the hospital. As the SCM, I am responsible for the overall operations and issues of the building during after hours. This role is extremely fast paced and allows me to be involved in all aspects of client care, from ER visit to admission and transfer to nursing unit, to discharge home.

     The role of my ePortfolio is to profile the work which I complete during the completion of my Master's course: MHST/NURS601: Foundations of Health Systems in Canada. I plan to expand on my professional values and share blog posts relating to my journey through this course.
